The new Task Force report “Going digital for noncommunicable diseases: the case for action” developed with World Health Organization and International Telecommunication Union highlights the importance for implementing digital technologies for improving the delivery of health services and to address the growing burden of NCDs on a national level. Digital tools such as mobile messaging, chatbots and telemedicine, can support the improvement of individual health prevention and management, real-time data for health professionals can support them to make informed decision about their patients.
While over 60% of countries have developed a digital health strategy, there is still a lack of integration of new technologies into the existing health infrastructure. Task Force is working with countries in developing national digital for NCDs investment cases to support digital transformation journeys.
