The United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases is calling for nominations for the 2022 Awards to recognize achievements during 2021 on multisectoral action in the prevention and control of NCDs, mental health and the wider NCD-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases was established by the UN Secretary General in 2013. Its role is to bring the United Nations system together to tackle non-communicable diseases and promote mental health

To conduct economic burden analysis as part of the SAFER (alcohol control) investment case in Nepal.

To support the Secretariat of the Task Force in the implementation of activities under the WHO/UNDP Joint Programme to Catalyse Multisectoral Action on Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) and Mental Health. This includes developing country specific NCD and mental health investment cases, preparing investment case missions and multistakeholder meetings and forums related to the project, and developing NCD, mental health and health tax supporting materials and tools.

To develop national tobacco cessation investment cases under the Access Initiative for Quitting Tobacco (AIQT).

To develop the mental health investment case for Nepal.

Mental health investment case provides quantification of the current costs of mental health conditions to the health sector and to the national economy at large, and of the benefits of scaled up action. The Task Force is now looking for a consultant Lead economist to develop the Mental Health Investment case for Bangladesh.

To provide support for ongoing and future NCD and mental health investment cases, including through drafting of specific parts of the reports and arranging multi-sectoral (on-line) forums in the project relevant countries.

To support the UN Inter-Agency Task Force on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases (UNIATF) mobilize investment and resources for the United Nations Multi-Partner Trust Fund to Catalyze Country Action for Non-Communicable Diseases and Mental Health.

To provide technical expertise and advice for the development of non-communicable diseases (NCD) and mental health investment cases, including quality control of the final reports. The consultant will also contribute to the development of new methodology modules (e.g., for environmental factors, health taxes, etc.) and will be involved in meetings and trainings relevant to the investment case work.

The consultant will provide support for the implementation of a second phase of Russian funding to support the WHO-UNDP Global Joint Programme: Catalyzing Multisectoral Action for Non- communicable Diseases that is being implemented under the United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases (Task Force). The consultant will provide support for ongoing and future NCD and mental health investment case as well as support for joint United Nations programming missions on Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs).
